The foundation of the MICHAEL CHEKHOV ACTING TECHNIQUE lies in the development of the actor's creative imagination and in the physical presentation of the role. Employing a series of psycho-physical exercises, the Chehkov Technique enables the actor to create extrodinary character interpretations and embody the inner truth and emotional depth of the role, together with the external reality. I have been a teacher of Michael Chekhov technique for several years and was the first to complete and to be certified in the teacher training program offered by the International Michael Chekhov Association. I teach MC Technique in all my acting classes at Case and have taught workshops around the country, as well as in Europe. I am available to teach workshops and seminars at colleges, universities, high schools, and workshop settings. Last year I taught at two local colleges as well as Wake Forrest and Elon University and ofered a special workshop on Anton Chekhov for the local community. I recently taught at the 2005 International Michael Chekhov Festival where I also performed. I will be offering a special workshop this Fall 2006 in character development using the MC Technique. Anyone interested in that workshop or in having me conduct a workshop for your group, please contact me at cla2@case.edu. I also work with private clients in a one on one basis in the Cleveland area. |
